Community Engagement
At DAV Chapter 15, we are deeply committed to fostering a strong, collaborative relationship with the community. Our chapter engages with local organizations, businesses, and individuals who share our dedication to supporting veterans and their families. By working together, we create a network of support that uplifts those who served, extending resources, care, and a sense of belonging.
This semiotic partnership symbolizes our shared values and mutual support, emphasizing that through unity and action, we can make a lasting impact in the lives of our veterans and our community at large.
Veteran's Response Team
DAV Chapter 15 is an active participant in the Veterans Response Team, a collaborative initiative aimed at enhancing support services for veterans and their families across our community. This team unites local Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) from three counties, fostering a coordinated effort to meet veterans’ needs swiftly and comprehensively.
The Veterans Response Team uses a single phone number and email as central contact points, ensuring veterans can access support without confusion or delay. With this streamlined process, veterans reach a team of knowledgeable volunteers who can provide timely assistance and connect them to the resources they need.
Through this initiative, DAV Chapter 15 and partner organizations are creating a stronger network of care. By pooling expertise, resources, and a shared commitment to veteran welfare, this partnership ensures that veterans and their families receive the respectful, responsive support they deserve. Chapter in the Community
Golden Corral
The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and Golden Corral have teamed up for years to support veterans, particularly through the annual Military Appreciation Night. Since 2001, Golden Corral has offered free meals to active-duty military and veterans around Veterans Day, with DAV’s support in spreading awareness and raising funds for veteran services.
In addition to the free meals, Golden Corral customers can donate to the DAV during this time, with proceeds helping support the organization’s mission of assisting disabled veterans.
DAV Chapter 15, in particular, plays an active role in fundraising, helping to raise money for Camp Corral, a special program that provides free summer camps for children of wounded, injured, or fallen military members. This partnership between Golden Corral, DAV, and local chapters like Chapter 15 highlights a strong commitment to supporting both veterans and their families.
